Unit 5 Countable Uncountable - Inglés 6º Patri

Countable and uncountable...

When we talk about objects, food, drinks...there is something we have to consider...is it countable or uncountable?

What is COUNTABLE
You can count them. There are singular and plural forms.
one cat, two cats
one student, ten students

what is UNCOUNTABLE?
You can't count them. There is only one form, there is no plural form.
rice, milk, water, sugar, weather, information

Look at the picture above ↑, we can count the countable nouns. There is one tomato and there are two olives and twelve eggs. There is some milk in the bottle and  butter on the plate. We can't count bread itself but we can count slices of bread.  We can't count cheese , but we can count pieces of cheese. We can't count milk, but we can count bottle or jugs of milk.
Para poder convertir esos nombres incontables en contables y poder contarlos, necesitamos la ayuda de otras palabras, de expresiones como: a piece of, a bit of, a slice of, a glass of, a cup of...

Examples:

👌I drank two bottles of water last night / I drank two waters last night X

👌She ate two bowls of rice with lunch / She ate two rices with lunch. X

 Now let´s practice!

Exercise 1
Exercise 2
Exercise 3

What would you need if you were on a desert island? You must decide on what items you will need to survive there...You can only bring ten items (you can choose the quantity of the items and at least four of those items must be uncountable nouns

¿Qué te llevarías a una isla desierta? Puedes elegir 10 cosas (puedes elegir la cantidad de cada cosa) pero con una condición...que al menos 4 cosas sean nombres incontables. Recuerda que expresiones puedes usar...
